Mission and International Synergy

As an intercontinental and non-corporative assembly of international academic members, the University Academy made a conspicuous entry into the field of higher education for the 21st century (see also: Timeline). Our transnational assembly embarked on a universal type of journey during which it will continue to evolve. The senior members of sixty-six world-leading universities and colleges in forty-three countries, as well as key leaders of twenty-seven private, public, supranational, and non-governmental organisations worldwide, leverage the international synergy for improved higher education in many places around the world.

With its operational framework that encompasses the relevance, continuity, and efficiency factors, Brexgata is currently engaged in the following activity-areas:

· To provide forms of assistance in the sustainable development of new institutions of higher education, and in the fast redeployment of the ones affected by calamities, particularly in low- and middle-income regions and countries. This activity includes the coordination of collaborative efforts undertaken by local and foreign educational institutions and by other organisations active in given areas or communities in the world.

· To implement new educational modes and methods that meet the changing needs of individuals and organisations in the evolving educational sphere worldwide. This is undertaken in conformity with the quality standards and forms of guidance applicable to higher education, and compliant with the norms and guidelines set forth by UNESCO, the OECD, and other associations, as well as with the University Academy's own standards.

The University Academy also occupies an important "fathering" or grandfathering role of government-cooperative and academic-supervisory nature. This role includes:

· The monitoring and validation renewals, by the Council, of the accredited programmes that have been placed under its custody (see also: ENSIGN)

· The organisational tutelage and awarding of the degrees for the academic programmes offered by certain institutions of (specialised) higher education (see also: Aegis).

Note: the term University Academy encompasses the notion of academic assembly of (persons active in) educational and other organisations (not that of "college preparatory school").
